From adding new items, making dress orders, trying to get inspired for another collection…Here’s what’s happening at the atelier.
I’ve been wanting to make this an ongoing theme and give you all peeks and updates on what I’m working on and what’s happening at the studio. Maybe monthly or bi-monthly. How do you all feel about this? Sometimes I post ‘work in progress’ pics on Instagram so people can see what we’re working on and how it’s done. Share your thoughts and comments. Let’s have a dialogue and get to know each other…
*New items for SpeakEasyBoutique: Tote & Scarf in 2 Liberty prints. I had a thought a while back that these lovely print-fabrics would make great scarves & fun summer totes. Also great if you dig Liberty prints but are more of a solid wearing person, a jaunty scarf or bag can add just a bit of fun to your mostly solid wardrobe. Plus, they make uniquely lovely gifts! I made these babies from start to finish and I hope you like them. Perfect right now - summer - resort - vacation - next spring. Link To Shop.
*The Maxis are on the cutting table.
Up until now the most beloved and ordered new style was the daisy print swing dress, (and skirt), which I do love… Then we got our first order from France, yay! (from a famously stylish Parisian). I love love love shipping international orders. We’ve sent kaj.ani to the UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Switzerland, Spain, even Qatar, and now to France. Color me tre’ excited.
The keyhole style dress is demurely sexy, like Laura Ingalls meets Lauren Hutton. The ruffle-edged maxi is my fave. It may not seam like it but it’s a very versatile dress, day to evening in a breeze. I’ve yet to make one for myself, but am going to as soon as I can, or shall I say my genius sewers Ricardo or Kathleen will. I do the designing, pattern making and cutting, (and that’s quite enough). I leave the sewing/tailoring to the experts in this area.

Liberty Maxi-Dresses in boho paisley & sweet daisy. Both dresses have a old-fashioned meets retro-modern vibe. These are the styles that tend to have more lasting appeal because they’re not trendy, but current.
